On October 29, 2026, H.E. Mr. Zhou Jingxing, Chinese Ambassador to Norway, met with H.E. Ms. Eileen Fugelsnes, Norway’s Minister of Research and Higher Education. They exchanged views on deepening China-Norway exchanges and cooperation in science, technology, innovation and higher education.

Ambassador Zhou noted that education and scientific and technological innovation are vital to the future development of both countries and the well-being of the two peoples. China is committed to high-standard opening up and attaches great importance to international cooperation in education, science and technology. It stands ready to work with Norway to further strengthen exchanges between universities and research institutions and expand cooperation in research, innovation and talent development, so as to inject new impetus into China-Norway relations.

Minister Fugelsnes warmly welcomed Ambassador Zhou on his assumption of office and spoke highly of China-Norway cooperation in education and research. She stated that relevant cooperation helps the joint efforts to tackle global challenges, and that Norway looks forward to seeing more practical achievements from bilateral cooperation.
