On October 23, 2026, Mr. Zhou Jingxing, Chinese Ambassador to Norway, traveled to Vestland County to attend the ceremony marking the first shipment of Norwegian brown cheese, or Brunost, to China.

In his remarks, Ambassador Zhou stated that introducing this traditional Norwegian food to Chinese consumers represents another successful example of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. He expressed his hope that businesses from both countries would continuously expand cooperation to inject fresh impetus into bilateral relations, bringing more tangible benefits to both countries and their peoples.

Ambassador Zhou also visited TINE's facility in Byrkjelo and a local dairy farm, and accepted interviews with local media. Mr. Geng Hongzhou, Counselor for Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Chinese Embassy, accompanied him during the visit.
