On June 3, Ambassador Hou Yue attended the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Norwegian Chinese Chamber of Commerce (NCCC). Norwegian State Secretary to the Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy, Ms. Kristina Sigurdsdottir Hansen and more than 60 NCCC members attended the event.

Ambassador Hou congratulated the NCCC on its 20th anniversary and stated that economic and trade cooperation has always served as the anchor of China-Norway relations, demonstrating great vitality that keeps pace with the times. Both countries adhere to multilateralism and free trade, which injects stability into the world. During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will continue to expand its high-level opening up, accelerate green transition and technological innovation, act as “the world’s factory” and “the world’s market”, bringing new opportunities to Norway and other countries around the world. We hope that the NCCC will continue to be a pioneer in bilateral trade and economic relations, a practitioner of mutual benefit, and a promoter of exchange and cooperation. We welcome more Norwegian companies to deepen their engagement in China and jointly foster shared prosperity.

State Secretary Hansen and the other participants highly commended the achievements in China-Norway economic and trade cooperation and the vast potential of the Chinese market, and expressed their willingness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with China and seek new growth areas.
