On March 22, H.E. Ms Hou Yue, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Kingdom of Norway, attended the "International Chinese Language Day" celebration. Over 200 representatives from Norwegian elementary, secondary, and higher education institutions as well as Chinese language enthusiasts took part in the event.

Ambassador Hou stated that Chinese embodies the living memory of a civilization spanning millennia, and stands as a vital vessel through which the heritage of the Chinese culture endures and flourishes. As global enthusiasm for the Chinese language continues to rise, it has also become a powerful bridge connecting peoples, deepening understanding, and bringing the world closer together. We warmly invite our Norwegian friends to step into the realm of Chinese learning—to draw wisdom from the profound depths of our culture, to sense the pulse of the age through China’s dynamic innovation and development, and to savor the richness of life in its most simple and authentic moments. May you take Chinese as your sail and dreams as your oar, navigating forward as ambassadors of China–Norway friendship, champions of cooperation, and true builders of bonds between our peoples.

Chinese language enthusiasts and students presented a captivating array of performances, including elegant guzheng melodies and traditional song and dance. Guests were invited to immerse themselves in hands-on experiences such as Chinese ink painting, the art of tea, and the crafting of traditional pastries.
