Q: Børge Brende, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway paid a visit to China on December 19, signaling a normalization of bilateral relations after a six-year period of difficulty. What is your comment? 

A: China-Norway relations underwent a long period of difficulty after being gravely damaged by the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize incident. Through multiple rounds of in-depth talks in the past six years, Norway has come to full senses of China's position and concerns, and made important and explicit statements on issues concerning China's core interests and major concerns, such as China's sovereignty and territorial integrity, thus providing necessary conditions for the two sides to reestablish political mutual trust and normalize bilateral relations. 

During Foreign Minister Brende's stay in China, Premier Li Keqiang and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met and held talks with him respectively. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the resumption and growth of China-Norway relations and reached important consensus. China would like to work with Norway to move forward bilateral relations in a sustained, sound and steady way on the basis of respecting and treating each other as equals and fully accommodating each other's core interests and major concerns.
