The Chinese Embassy in Norway has taken note of the annual threat assessment reports released by PST, NIS and NSM. These reports are filled with false narrative against China, and hype up the so-called "China threat" based on preconceived and subjective conjectures. The relevant content brings no good but only harm to China-Norway relations, which we strongly deplore and firmly oppose.
Nowadays, the world is witnessing profound transformation and instability, marked by protracted and intensified geopolitical conflicts, and repeated attempts to decouple and sever supply chains. What is urgently needed is understanding, trust, and cooperation, rather than prejudice, suspicion, and confrontation. China has always been a firm force for peace, unity, openness, justice, and inclusiveness, providing new opportunities for others with Chinese modernization, and contributing stability and positive energy to the world through its own progress and collaborative efforts. China has never posed any threat or challenge to any other party.
Mutual respect is one of the most important lessons from the development of China-Norway relations, and the prerequisite for mutual respect is to view each other from an objective and rational perspective. We hope that relevant Norwegian agencies can put aside ideological biases, stop sowing panic and creating confrontation, and make more contribution not only to the steady and sound development of China-Norway relations, but also to a bright future of peace, security, prosperity and progress for our world.
