Ambassador Hou Yue Visits the Fridtjof Nansen Institute

On December 6, Ambassador Hou Yue visited the Fridtjof Nansen Institute (FNI), and held in-depth discussions with Director Prof. Iver B. Neumann as well as scholars from FNI on topics of mutual interest.

Ambassador Hou stated that FNI has long engaged in exchanges and cooperation with China, playing a positive role in fostering practical collaboration in fields such as sustainable development. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between China and Norway. With Prime Minister Støre's successful visit to China, the leaders of both countries have laid out strategic framework for further deepening bilateral ties, highlighting key areas of cooperation such as green transition. She hopes that FNI will leverage its academic expertise to expand collaboration with China in the future and continue contributing to the development of bilateral relations.

Prof. Neumann warmly welcomed Ambassador Hou and emphasized that, as one of Norway's leading think tanks, FNI has maintained close exchanges with Chinese institutions, with an aim to enhance objective understanding of China in Norway. FNI looks forward to deepening cooperation with Chinese partners to jointly address global challenges, such as climate change.
