Ambassador Hou Yue Visits Norwegian University of Science and Technology

On April 8th, 2024, Ambassador Hou Yue visited the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim and held discussions with the acting Rector, Mr. Tor Grande, among others. 

Mr. Grande warmly welcomed Ambassador Hou's visit and introduced to her the education philosophy and strategic research areas of NTNU and its cooperation with China. He said that China is Norway's important scientific research partner outside Europe. Universities from the two countries have maintained close exchanges and fruitful results have been yielded from academic cooperation. China has made outstanding achievements in  scientific research development. It is hoped that the two sides can continue to enhance academic exchanges and further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.

Ambassador Hou said that NTNU has made important contributions to China-Norway scientific and educational exchanges and is an important window for Norwegian society to better understand China. China actively advocates the open, fair, equitable, and non-discriminatory international technology cooperation, and calls for "developing science for the benefit of all regardless of borders." China is willing to continue to deepen cooperation with Norway in education and scientific research and together explore solutions to global challenges through international science and innovation cooperation. It is hoped that China-Norway education and scientific research cooperation could bear more fruit, and jointly contribute to the well-being of mankind.
