2022-05-26 03:57

Q: Aftenposten published a report claiming that further details proved the existence of "re-education camps" and "mass incarcerations" in Xinjiang. What is your comment?

A: The relevant report by Aftenposten totally disregards facts and truth, deliberately smears and attacks China, and attempts to mislead and hijack the public opinion. We firmly oppose to such a pernicious act.

The essence of Xinjiang-related issues is fighting against terrorism, separatism and extremism. The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has carried out de-radicalization education in accordance with the law in order to eradicate violence, terrorism and extremism from the source. These practices have to the greatest extent possible protected the basic human rights of the Xinjiang people, safeguarded regional security and stability, and promoted economic and social prosperity and development. These are the real facts and truth of Xinjiang-related issues.

At present, the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang equally enjoy stability, security, development and progress. We sincerely welcome friends from Norway to visit Xinjiang after the epidemic to experience in person the real and colorful Xinjiang.
