Fabricated threats and confrontation are bound to fail
——The Embassy Spokesperson’s statement on threat assessment reports of the intelligence agencies of Norway
2022-02-15 04:20

The Chinese Embassy in Norway noted the recently released reports by NIS, PST and NSM and the remarks by relevant officials regarding China, which the Chinese side is strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed to.

The reports are full of hostility towards China and Cold War mentality. It is extremely irresponsible and dangerous to create imaginary enemies without basis of facts, generalize the concept of national security and politicize any China-related issues. Certain countries have wantonly imposed unilateral sanctions and “long-arm jurisdictions” on other countries and created conflicts and turbulence by use of military force around the world. Such actions of hegemony and power politics are the real security threats.

The humanity today is facing numerous challenges. Instead of making accusations to slander and attack each other, there is a pressing need for all sides to act together to address the common concerns. China will continue to follow the path of peaceful development. Its development will keep bringing more opportunities to countries around the world, including Norway. China is willing to work with Norway to promote further development and win-win cooperation based on mutual respect and seek common ground while reserving differences. We hope that all countries will stand together and unite as one in joint efforts for a shared future.
