Notice on Further Adjustments to Fingerprint Collection for Visa Applications to China

To further facilitate visa applicants, from September 2, 2024, to December 31, 2025, all applicants for short-term visas (with a stay of 180 days or less) applying for single or double-entry visas at Chinese embassies and consulates abroad will be exempt from fingerprint collection.

Please be noted that fingerprints collection are not required for:

1. Applicants under the age of 14 or over the age of 70;

2. Diplomatic passport holders or applicants eligible for diplomatic, service or courtesy visa;

3. Applicants who have applied for a Chinese visa with the same passport within the last 5 years at the Chinese Embassy in Norway or the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Oslo and whose fingerprints have already been collected;

4. Applicants with physical limitation in this area or applicants whose 10 fingerprints can’t be collected for other reasons ;

Faking fingerprints or fraud via using other fingerprints results in denial of entry to China. The applicant shall bear all consequences.
